Coming Together

I am amazed how fast I finished this peace. I must have used the momentum of one of my current mood swings.

At first, I intended to make a picture of how I imagined the original Bionicle ending that Greg Farshtey wanted to use (Mata Nui ripping open Makuta's body after beating him), but I quickly abandoned the idea. I couldn't even finish the initial sketch. I was disgusted by it (not the concept, but the sketch).
Another idea I had was to draw a(nother) horrifying image of Tren Krom gripping Brutaka, one that would give you nightmares... but I'm fed up with all the Nightmare Fuel, and coming up with an over-the-top ugly and disturbing image of the tentacle monster we all know and perhaps even love was too much of a hard task. And it would have used up a lot more of my pencil.

So instead of brutal or scary, I settled for epic.

I kept playing out the scene in my head. If I were to ever bring it to film (hypothetically speaking), this image would be one of the key shots I'd use.
And I'd go with Greg's original idea, rather than the one depicted in the comics, because I find it more interesting and satisfying.

Thus, I bring you this quick doodle of the confrontation between two "brothers", the process of the Melding; Makuta using his gravity power to fold up Bara Magna whilst also pulling its moons back towards it.
