Someone (who I assume doesn't have a DA account) asked me to draw him something nice. After going through a couple of ideas, we settled at this.
And... I... freaking... drew IT!
Using both of my hands for it, mind you.
Four of the most well known Bionicle females (lets be honest, there aren't that many to begin with): Gali Nuva, Nokama Metru, Hahli Inika, and Glatorian Kiina.
They might seem strange, even unfamiliar, but I was told to make them look lifelike, more feminine than the sets. So I did as I was asked to.
It was a nice experience, experimenting with different kinds of body designs and applying design cues from both the sets and their movie versions. For Hahli and Kiina, I had to make up new "features" since they don't have movie forms (Kiina does, kind of, but it simply consists of her set form with a lion cloth covering her crotch). I made her look more organic, more like a fighter suited for a desert environment.
Hope none of them turned out too uncanny and ugly, even though I know they did. I know, I could work on Hahli's left hand a bit more, re-draw Nokama's left thigh, reconstruct Gali's face, not to mention her torso, and completely re-do Kiina. I know, realistic feminine proportions do not work well with these Bionicle sets. I know, I suck at drawing. *sigh*
The person who requested it is satisfied, thankfully.
It took me half a day to finish, and I wouldn't want to start over again. Though seeing how horrible it looks now that it's finished, I may just do that.
Anyway, this just gets to show that I should never do any requests or commissions. So don't ask me to.
